Aktionsplan Queer leben

On November 18, the federal cabinet decided on the plan “Queer Leben”, as scheduled in the coalition contract. Different plans for acceptance and protection of sexual and gender diversity were hilighted, and six topic points were solidified:

  • Recognition by law
  • Participations
  • Security
  • Health
  • Strenghtening of the Communities
  • International issues

Besides the “Selbstbestimmungsgesetz”, the reformation of the ancestry law and law about blood donation, further topics more important in the work context were decided. That way, besides strenghtening of consultation structures, research into the situation or discrimination of LGBT*IQ in a workspace and projects for acceptance are highly encouraged. Furthermore, the aspect of diversity management should be pushed forward, which includes not only the creation of sensibility towards LGBT*IQ employees, but also pushing for a guide for employers on the topic of the third option in two studies. Another plan is the development of the variety of topics around diversity trough the initiative “New quality of work” by the Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales, which was created to accompany, companies, workspaces, and their employees trough the change of the working world.
