Artificial intelligence is increasingly shaping our everyday lives. It can seem overwhelming, but when used correctly, it can be a powerful tool for positive change. It is also clear that algorithms can reproduce social prejudices and run the risk of reinforcing them. Queer identities in particular remain invisible or are distorted in many systems. The event will focus on the question of how we can use and design AI in a more equitable way for marginalized groups. What forms of bias exist in data, codes, and applications? How do they arise—and how can they be identified, questioned, and eliminated? Together, we will discuss how discriminatory standards in digital technologies can be uncovered and replaced with diverse, inclusive perspectives and used in networks and companies.
